Things are harder if we go through it alone. A difficult task or conversation can easily turn heavy or overwhelming if we manage it all by ourselves. Remarkably, sharing punctures this dynamic. Venting about our unreasonable boss, difficult partner, or annoying neighbor brings unexpected relief. You see, in complaining, blowing off steam, and workshopping with another, we are comforted by the support of others. We enrich our connections and feel less alone because we’ve shared. By talking a chance in sharing with a therapist, coach, friend, or neighbor, we grow a bond, feel more understood, and even grow our confidence. We might even gets some tips about how to better manage our situation! So don’t keep it all to yourself. Build the bridge to those who can help by taking the risk of sharing. Because when you do, you just might find you are more able to address the challenges because you aren’t doing it all alone.
